Catalan playwright Esteve Soler’s Indignation Trilogy (Against Progress, Against Love and Against Democracy) has been celebrated around the world for its audacious mix of comedy, horror and satire. With a bizarre totalitarian state constantly creeping in from off-stage the piece felt eerily resonant when the trilogy was completed in 2010. Now, with the suppression and turmoil surrounding the Catalan independence movement coupled with extreme events across the globe, our world seems to have spun even closer to its biting and surreal imaginings. Director Jack Tarlton has remixed the trilogy into a savage grin of theatre, transferring to London directly from Backwell Festival. Come and join the future.
